Clarence House: a storied address

Clarence House was built between 1825 and 1827 for Prince William Henry and was designed by John Nash in a restrained neoclassical style. The final construction bill of £22,232 exceeded early estimates, and the house sits adjoining St. James's Palace with its own separate entrance.

From royal children to modern renovations

The home has housed many royals over two centuries. It underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2002 before Charles and Camilla moved in in 2003. Today it is a four-storey, five-bedroom residence with principal reception rooms opening onto a walled garden; it also opens to visitors each August and is estimated to be worth about $72 million.
