How the bill was split

The Crown Estate paid about $534,982 to repair Forest Lodge, three cottages and the grounds before the couple moved in. Approximately $285,228 was for the main house and surrounding works (heating, plumbing, structural repairs, fire alarms, brickwork, boilers and stabilising walls); about $65,000 went to No 2 Stable Cottages, $121,000 to No 3 Stable Cottages and $59,400 to The Barn. No 1 Stable Cottages had no works because the previous tenant left in January.
