Introducing herself as "Catarina"

Kate spoke some Italian during a town-square greeting, using the name Catarina. A 5-year-old named Alice told reporters the princess spoke very well, and teacher Roberta Marzi said her Italian was clear for the simple questions she asked.

Putting early childhood in the spotlight

The visit ties directly to her long-running work: she launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021 and the Shaping Us campaign in 2023.
